Petunia Pants!

These are easy! All you need is cute fabric (I purchased 1/2 a yard...but recommend 3/4), elastic waistband, and your machine!
First...grab a pair of pants that your little girl currently wears. Cut around the pants 1 to 2 inches, but make sure to cut an extra 4 or so inches on the top length to be able to roll down the waistband as well as on the bottom length to leave extra for hemming. After cut out, sew side seams. Then sew waist to crotch. Next sew the interior of the legs going from one leg...connecting with the crotch. Have your child try pants on to see where you will want to connect the ruffles to the pant and total length. To make the ruffles, all you need to do is hem 3 sides...the fourth (long) side, you will want to do a baste stitch with your sewing machine on 5+ stitch length setting. baste along edge and pull the bobbin thread to cinch the fabric forming a gather. Last, pin the gathered side right sides together to the bottom connecting the pants to the ruffles and sew on (surge together). Hem ruffles to desired length and you have cute pants for your princess!
